Wife Kills Husband With Stone Over Mobile Phone


Disagreement over the ownership of a mobile phone has led to the death of Mr. Issa Yunusa.
A thirty-year-old pregnant woman, Fatimoh Issa, has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command for allegedly killing her first husband, Issa  Yunusa with a stone.
The incident is said to have occurred Sunday in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Sources say that Fatimoh had abandoned Yunusa after he had an accident and became financially incapacitated as he could no longer operate his okada business.

“Despite the marriage been blessed with three children, Fatimoh started another relationship with Gani Ajibade, a tricycle driver.”
Fatimoh had given birth to child for Ajibade and was also expecting another as she was said to be pregnant again.
But on learning that her first husband (Yunusa) had had fully recovered and had bought another motorcycle, she decided to go back to him taking his mobile phone in the process.

Ajibade, when he discovered that Fatimoh had taken her phone, he was said to have stormed Yunusa’s residence demanding for his mobile phone.

The deceased was said to have promised Ajibade that he would get back the phone from the woman.

Neighbors’ of the deceased were woken up at about 5am by Fatimoh’s shouts  for help.
Some neighbours rushed into Yunusa’s house only to find Yinusa in a pool of his own blood.
Yunusa was said to have been hit in the head with a big stone by his wife.
A top police officer, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said, “Yunusa was attacked with a heavy stone and eventually killed by Fatimoh.”

Efforts made by neighbours to rush Yunusa to the hospital proved abortive as several taxi drivers contacted refused as they feared that he might die on the way to hospital.

Fatimoh and Ajibade have been arrested by the Police and they are been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, Kwara State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Olufemi Fabode, said the two suspects have been transferred from A Division to the SCID.

He added that Fatimoh had confessed to having committed the crime. According to Mr. Fabode, who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police, the suspect blamed the devil for her actions.

He said, “She told us that it was work of the devil. We also asked her what she used to kill him. She said she used a big stone.”
