Jonathan appoints Ezeife, Akanmode, Ekpu into federal agencies’ boards

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday directed the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim, to appoint chairmen and members of governing boards of 42 federal parastatals and agencies.
Some of the appointees include, former Editor-in-Chief of Newswatch Magazine, Ray Ekpu, ace actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, a musical legend Bongus Ikwue, politicians, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Olusola Akanmode, Cairo Ojougbo, among other notable personalities.
In a statement detailing the areas of posting, signed by Anyim, stated that membership of each governing board shall include all the statutory ex-officio members in accordance with the Enabling Laws of the Parastatals and Agencies.
It also added that the dates for the formal inauguration of the boards will be announced in due course by the supervising authorities and ministers.
For Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Olusola Akanmode, is the chairman, while members include Idonibin Obagama, Garba Dahiru, Mahmud A. Gurumpawo, and Mohammed Bello Abdulkadir (Salankan Zazzau).
For National Mathematical Centre, Abubakar H. Girei is the chairman, while members include, G.A Badmus, Stephen Ahaneku and Zilkifilu Abdu.
The Universal Basic Education Commission has A. J. Turner as chairman, while members are Mohammed Bello, Chuma Nnaji, Hauwa Musa Kida, Abubakar L. Audu, Tarfa Atu, Kunle Yusuf, Nnalue Kingsley Chizobam, Sharon Oviemuno and Mathias Ekweremadu.
The National Commission for Colleges of Education has as chairman, Chukwuemeka Ezife, while Mrs. Margaret Zidon, Mohammed Dantsoho and Mrs. Ngozi Nnadozie are members.
The National Institute for Education Planning and Administration has as chairman, Bolaji Anani, while members are Jamila Baba Buhari and Nma Mowete.
The National Institute for Fresh Water Fisheries Research has Arma Yau Abubakar as chairman, while Francis Ayodele Akinkiawe, George Moghalu, Bimbola Yusuf and Oche Ekoza Elias as members.
The Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria has Sulieman Galadima as chairman, while members are Umoru Barau Ningi, Bennette E. Ughamadu, Oluomo Yinka Adeojo and Uche Igbokwe.
