NPC Chairman, Odimegwu, queried not suspended over comments on 2006 census



The chairman of the National Population commission mr Festus Odimegwu was issued a query by the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF) on Monday over his comments on the 2006 census.
The Special Assistant, Media, to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sam Nwaobasi, made a clarification in Abuja that Mr Odimegwu was queried not suspended as reported in some parts of the media. 
Nwaobasi who made the clarification on phone to journalists stated, on the contrary that Odimegwu was only asked to explain his utterances over the 2006 census in a query from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The news of the suspension of the Chairman’s of the Pension Commission, which has been rife in the media, came on the heel of a call for his sack by Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Sources close to the Presidency said on Tuesday that Odimegwu was given till Friday to reply.
