Omawumi releases ‘Somori’ today

Not resting her oars after the success recorded by her Bottom Belle hit and many endorsements, talented vocalist, Omawumi Megbele is once again getting ready to excite her fans with her latest effort, ‘Somori’. The song produced by Phil keys featured fast rising artist, Remmy Kay Z and the song will be released today.
Speaking concerning the new single, Omawumi said it is basically to mentor the young ones. “Probably due to my upbringing, you can’t see me praising myself. But with this song, I did something different. This song will inspire the young ones to stand out in everything they do and be very positive about life. It’s a challenge to all of them. No matter what, they can be the best in everything they do”.
Omawumi described ‘Somori’, a Yoruba word, as someone who can’t be ignored and highly respected in the society. The idea of this song is different from my previous songs. I noticed that when I put out a song, people ask questions and worry at times because I constantly experiment with new sounds. This time around, I identified with a new sound again and make it a real deal. It’s a new school kind of dance music and I deliver it well”.

Regarding her sterling performance at Chief Tony Anenih’s birthday last Sunday as the only Nigerian artiste to perform for all the top dignitaries present including the Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, Omawumi said it was an honour. “Well, I feel grateful that my music is accepted by all and it’s not by my power. I just feel blessed and honoured. It’s not easy”.
