232 Reps may vote for Jonathan’s impeachment as Tukur moves to persuade Tambuwal

There are indications that the combination of the number of the house of representative Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members which is currently hovering between 95 and 125 including the strong voices of over 137 All Progressive Congress representatives may form a formidable  majority who might move for the impeachment of President Goodluck  Jonathan.
The Bamanga Tukur-led  Peoples Democratic party has begin serious moves meant to appeal to the speaker of  the House of Representatives Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal  as part of efforts to buy him in considering the threats of  the over New PDP members impeach the president
This was learnt from a reliable source who also stated that the Chair of PDP, Bamanga Tukur  is set to hold meeting with Tambuwal,  who is believed to be eyeing the much-coveted  presidential seat through the support of the new PDP by 2015.
The meeting is being organised to hold talks between the Tukur-led PDP faction loyalist to appeal to the members of the New PDP over the impeachment threat.
The source stated thus: “We are meeting to primarily set a new agenda for the 7th Assembly using our large number which is hovering around 95 to 125 Reps and 55 Senators,” the source said, adding:
On the potential numerical strength of the New PDP in the house of Representative, the source said “We equally have the strong voices of 137 All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Green Chamber who have vowed to support our cause.
“If you add 137 to 95, we are clearly in the majority in the House of Reps and we will speak with one voice.
“This large figure of Reps will speak in one voice in all proceedings bordering on bills and motions.
“We will handle all matters as one large family to bring down those tyrants who are enemies of democracy in the old PDP”, the source assured.
The meeting planned to be held  at 3pm tomorrow at the National Assembly Is meant to persuade the Speaker to postpone the resumption date of the members from the annual recess where it is supposed to end  tomorrow.
“The Speaker was being careful considering the tension over the fractionalisation of the PDP with the new faction attacking the old faction. If he agrees to meet with the NWC members alone, that would have put him squarely in the camp of the PDP with the attendance consequences from the new PDP members who have been screaming for the impeachment of President Goodluck Jonathan and a clean break from the Bamangar Tukur- led Party” the source further revealed.

But it was learnt that Tukur revealed that the agenda for the meeting is to introduce the members of the newly-elected National Working Committee to the PDP Caucus in the House
