I won’t tolerate faction in Kwara PDP, says Gov Ahmed

Kwara state governor,Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has warned that his administration would not allow any splinter group in Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the state.
Ahmed who stated this while addressing journalists at the Ilorin International Airport shortly after arriving from the PDP National Convention in Abuja, disclosed that the meeting of the governors on the platform of the party and other stakeholders within the party was fruitful.
“We had fruitful discussions with President Goodluck Jonathan on how to move our party forward. We are still going to have further discussions with him.
“However, no group in the state should capitalise on what is going in the PDP at the national level as a way of causing division in the state. We have one indivisible party and we have winning machinery in the state. Therefore, I am warning any group which might want to influence anything negatively to think twice”.
It would be recalled that the governor was among the seven PDP governors that walked out at the weekend convention of the party in Abuja to hold a parallel convention.
The factional National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, who was being expected in the state did not accompany the governor to Ilorin yesterday.
It was gathered that the Presidency might have concluded arrangements to return the state branch of the party to the pioneer PDP in the State.
Among party leaders who thronged the Ilorin Airport to welcome the governor back include members of executive council in the state as well as the Deputy Speaker in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Gana Yisa, among others.
