How a Lioness killed a tourist in SA

A lioness has killed a woman - believed to be a US tourist - at the Lion Park near South Africa's main city Johannesburg.


The park's assistant manager Scott Simpson confirmed the incident to.

The lioness apparently jumped through a car window, and bit the middle aged woman who was in the passenger seat. She died of her wounds while paramedics were treating her at the scene.

A man in the car survived - he sustained injuries as he fought off the animal.
It is strictly against the rules to keep windows open in the Lion Park.
