Sit up! Nigerians will Not Take Excuses From Us –IGP Warns AIGs, CPs

Following the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari that the military should dismantle all road blocks in the country, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has warned top police officers in the country to brace up to the challenge of providing adequate security in the country as Nigerians will not take any excuses for lack of performance from them.
He gave the warning at a meeting with top police officers including Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs), Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police in Abuja, on Tuesday.

He, however, urged Nigerians not to entertain any fear stressing that the police has done it before and was ready to do it again.
While addressing the top police officers, Arase said: “Nigerians will not want to listen to excuses from us. We have the opportunity now to take over our mandate of securing the internal security of the nation.
“The withdrawal of the army at check points should not create fear in the minds of the public. We have done it before and that is why we are calling having this meeting.”
