Major Reason why Jonathan has not yet been arrested says EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed why former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has not been arrested in connection to the alleged diversion of over $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms and military hardware for the armed forces.
Former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (retd), who is at the center of the investigation, allegedly disbursed the aforementioned sum to several politicians to garner support for the re-election bid of Jonathan, during the last presidential campaign.
Several members of the public have wondered about the former President’s role in the massive diversion of public funds and if he was privy to the developments, withdrawals and disbursement.
While speaking with online news publishers on Monday, in Lagos, the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu sought to answer the question on the lips of many.
Magu said there’s no document to suggest that Jonathan gave approval for the disbursement of the money for any purpose other than arms purchase.
According to the EFCC boss, all those questionedand being investigated in connection with the $2.1 billion diversion, were those who disbursed or collected it for reasons other than the purchase of arms and ammunition.
“All approvals by former president Jonathan did not mention that it was for political purposes. All the memos approved by him were for the purchase of arms”, Magu said.
